June, 2010

July, 2010

So... what did we do in June and what are we planning to do in July. On Tuesday June 22 Joel Delgado knocked at the door and became our newest Entered Apprentice Mason. Congratulation Brother Joel on joining the oldest fraternal organization in the world, and welcome to the Lodge.
Our July Stated Meeting will be on Tuesday, July 6, just after the 4th of July. That makes sense. If you all want to come down top the Cupertino High School on the 4th of July, that is where I will be, shooting the fireworks show for the City of Cupertino. Dinner on the 4th will be catered by the Colonel. Dinner for the Stated Meeting will be on the 8th at 6:30 pm with hors d'oeuvres at 6:00 pm menu TBA...
The OAM is Dark in July, which means we are not going to have one. Therefore we all have a good excuse for not showing up. We don't even have to call our Inspector and tell him that we are not going to be there. He won't care and probably doesn't even want to be bothered.
On Tuesday, July 13 we will be doing a Second Degree for Kenneth Tracton. Brother Tracton did is First Degree Proficiency in short form at our June Stated Meeting.
Saturday, July 17 we will be having our annual Lodge Picnic at Mitchell Park at the Pine Grove area near the tennis courts. We will have the usual things for a picnic: flys, ants, bees, and mosquitoes, along with the other usual things barbecue chicken, steak, corn on the cob, baked beans, french bread, soft drinks, ice cream, and maybe a balloon or two. As Eeyore once said, "Nobody can be uncheered by a balloon." Or was it Winnie the Pooh who said that? I'll have to get back to you on that one. Picnic price will be $10.00 per person, kids are free.
The rest of the month we will start working on Third Degree practice. We may have a few more First or Second Degrees to work into the schedule, but no dates are set at this time.
 Fraternally,
 Don Groshart, Master 2010
